If you live in a Coastal Area you should take certain factors into consideration when choosing your outdoor Lights, if you live even 10 miles in-land from the Coast it is recommended you choose your outside lights carefully if you want them to look as attractive in a few months time as the day they were installed.

The main issue comes from Salt - Coastal Salt is hygroscopic meaning it attracts water and is highly corrosive especially on outdoor lights.  Homes close to the coast may experience sea spray, salty air, high wind and heavy rain.
